Soccer Graduate Assistant

Colorado Christian University (CCU) seeks a Soccer Graduate Assistant (GA) to support the Head Coach in fostering the spiritual, academic, and athletic success of the program. The GA must thrive in a small university setting and be a committed member of the CCU Department of Athletics.

This is a fully on-site role based in Lakewood, Colorado. Candidates must reside and work legally in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to CCU’s mission by supporting a Christ-centered athletic team committed to extending grace and truth to students through their athletic, educational, and spiritual pursuits.
• Assist the coaching staff in all functional areas of the program, including:
  • Christian mentoring and discipleship of soccer athletes
  • Practices and home/away contests
  • Recruiting, fundraising, travel, and other program needs as determined by the Head Coach
• Support the Director of Athletics with additional responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required; must be accepted into a CCU graduate program.
• Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations; ability to pass the NCAA coaching test.
• Two to four years of collegiate-level coaching or playing experience at the NCAA level preferred.
• Ability to integrate Christian faith into coaching and a desire to disciple/mentor student-athletes in their faith through soccer.
• Experience integrating discipleship and evangelism into athletic programs is desired.
• Willingness to minister to those outside the team with the gospel through soccer.
• Strong knowledge of soccer and the ability to communicate it effectively to student-athletes.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact appropriately with college student-athletes.
• Experience in a private Christian institution is desirable.
• Ability to drive 15-passenger vans.

Work Environment

• Requires walking, standing, sitting, reaching, balancing, stooping, speaking clearly, and having appropriate vision and hearing capabilities.
• Occasional lifting and/or moving of up to 25 pounds.
• Irregular work hours, including nights and weekends.
• Local and regional travel is expected.
• Extended periods at a keyboard or workstation may be required.

Graduate Assistant Program Details

• A minimum two-year commitment coinciding with enrollment in and completion of a CCU graduate program (may take 2–3 years depending on the program).
• Must complete a minimum of two years of service and remain in the role through the end of the fiscal year (June 30) upon program completion.

• Standard workweek of 25 hours, not exceeding an average of 29 hours per week.

Pay

Compensation includes an hourly wage of $15.16 and a tuition waiver for a master’s degree through CCU’s College of Adult and Graduate Studies. The recipient is responsible for student fees each semester.

Selected candidates must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and submit results to CCU for review.
