SOC Analyst II

About the role

Piper Companies is seeking a SOC Analyst II in Boston, MA to support a fast-growing cybersecurity organization. The SOC Analyst II will analyze escalated security events, conduct detailed investigations, and help identify and respond to threats across customer environments.

Responsibilities

• Analyze escalated alerts and conduct in-depth security investigations.
• Perform incident response, threat hunting, scoping, and remediation activities.
• Correlate suspicious activity across endpoint, cloud, network, identity, and email environments.
• Investigate threats using SIEM, SOAR, EDR/XDR, logs, and other security data.
• Identify attack patterns and determine the potential scope and impact of security incidents.
• Communicate investigation findings and recommended response actions.

Requirements

• 2+ years of hands-on SOC, security operations, or incident response experience.
• Experience investigating and responding to security incidents beyond initial alert triage.
• Familiarity with SIEM, SOAR, EDR/XDR, threat detection, and MITRE ATT&CK.
• Experience using SPL, KQL, SQL, FQL, or similar languages to investigate security data.
• Broad knowledge of enterprise security threats and attack vectors.

Pay

$40–$50/hr, based on experience.

Schedule

3:00 AM–11:00 AM ET.
