SOC Analyst II

Piper Companies is seeking a SOC Analyst II in Arlington, VA to join a rapidly growing cybersecurity organization. The SOC Analyst II will support security operations by investigating complex alerts, identifying potential threats, and assisting with incident response and remediation.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and validate escalated security alerts and incidents.
• Perform incident triage, investigation, threat hunting, scoping, and remediation.
• Analyze security activity across endpoint, cloud, identity, network, and email environments.
• Leverage SIEM, SOAR, EDR/XDR, and log analysis to investigate suspicious activity.
• Determine whether alerts are isolated events or part of broader attacks.
• Document and communicate investigation findings and remediation recommendations.

Requirements

• 2+ years of hands-on SOC or security operations experience.
• Experience conducting security investigations beyond basic alert monitoring and escalation.
• Knowledge of SIEM, EDR/XDR, SOAR, threat hunting, and MITRE ATT&CK.
• Experience querying security data using SPL, KQL, SQL, FQL, or similar languages.
• Broad understanding of common attack vectors across enterprise environments.

Pay

$40–$50/hr, based on experience.

Schedule

3:00 AM–11:00 AM ET.
