About the role
Database Architect is expected to design data infrastructure to extract and organize Department of Financial Services' enterprise data systems, bridge the gap between business needs and complex technology, and ensure Department of Financial Services' data is secure, highly available, scalable, and compliant with New York State policies and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Monitor DFS Snowflake credit usage, adjust resource monitors, and tune virtual warehouses
- Manage Snowflake users and roles, enforce security policies, audit Snowflake access
- Write and tune SQL queries, build Snowflake ELT pipelines, manage compute and cost, and configure security and governance
- Build and update Informatica mappings and configure workflows
- Perform unit testing and validate data integrity
- Troubleshoot failures and tune performance
- Document ETL processes, security policies, system architecture, and user guides
Requirements
- 15+ years of experience determining database structural requirements by analyzing client operations, applications, and programming; reviewing objectives with clients; evaluating current systems; providing database support by coding utilities, responding to user questions, and resolving problems
- 84 months of experience in Snowflake data warehouse development and administration
- 84 months of experience in Snowflake performance tuning and improvement
- 84 months of experience in Informatica pipeline development and data transformation
- 84 months of experience in Informatica performance tuning and improvement
- 84 months of experience in RDBMS (Relational Database Management System) and SQL Query development
- 48 months of experience in solution architecture & modeling
- 84 months of experience in database and platform security & governance
