As a Senior Data Architect, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of their enterprise data landscape.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive enterprise data architecture covering relational, NoSQL, vector, and graph databases, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Translate organizational strategy into scalable data models, standards, and patterns that support analytics, AI/ML projects, and operational systems.
  • Lead the design, review, and optimization of the Snowflake data platform, including schema standards, data modeling, and performance tuning; ensure cost efficiency.
  • Architect AI/ML data foundations, such as feature stores and embedding pipelines, to power advanced analytics and machine learning initiatives.
  • Evaluate emerging database technologies and oversee proof-of-concept testing, migration planning, and adoption strategies for new systems.
  • Establish and enforce data governance policies, security measures, and data quality standards in collaboration with security and compliance teams.
  • Mentor and influence data engineering professionals, serving as a technical authority and trusted advisor across the organisation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that data solutions meet both current and future business requirements.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 10 years' experience in data architecture, data engineering, or related fields, with demonstrated progressive scope and leadership.
  • Proven expertise in designing and managing production data systems, especially within Snowflake environments.
  • Hands-on experience with relational (e.g., Snowflake, PostgreSQL), NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB, DynamoDB), vector (e.g., Pinecone, Weaviate), and graph (e.g., Neo4j) databases.
  • Advanced knowledge of data modelling techniques such as 3NF, dimensional modelling, and Data Vault.
  • Strong familiarity with data integration, ETL/ELT, CDC, streaming, and event-driven architectures.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of translating complex technical concepts for diverse audiences, including executive leadership.
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate ambiguity and influence stakeholders without formal authority.

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Experience with modern data stack tools such as dbt, Airflow, or Fivetran.
  • Cloud platform expertise (AWS, Azure, GCP), including infrastructure as code practices.
  • Knowledge of data security, lineage, and governance tools.
  • Background working within healthcare, veterinary, or multi-site service organisations.
  • Proven track record of applying emerging data technologies to solve strategic business challenges.
