About the Role

The Registered Nurse uses the nursing process to safely coordinate total patient care and education for patients as they are admitted and discharged from the facility. Under the general supervision of the Chief Nursing Officer, Associate Chief Nursing Officer, and the Nurse Manager, the nurse will function within the scope of approved policies, procedures, and regulations for the department and organization.

Assignments will be made based on current staffing needs, and the nurse is expected to function independently in ICU, CVSU, ED, medical-surgical floors, and telemetry floors. Rotation between weekends and holidays will be determined by the Nurse Manager according to the needs of the facility.

Responsibilities

• Document total care given and maintain patient charts per policy.
• Assist with accurate and timely entry of patient data, orders, and charges into the computer system.
• Collaborate with the CNO, ACNO, Nurse Manager, staff, physicians, administrators, and peers.
• Promote teamwork between staff, physicians, home health, hospital-owned outpatient clinics, and all other ancillary departments to assist in problem-solving.
• Interact professionally and non-defensively with peers, physicians, administration, patients, and visitors.
• Maintain all certifications and licensure requirements on time.
• Arrange and attend yearly mandatory and assigned HealthStream education sessions.

Requirements

• Must pass a pharmacology test for this position.
• Attendance to yearly mandatory education requirements is non-negotiable.
