About the role

The Registered Nurse coordinates total patient care and education for patients across various hospital departments including ICU, CVSU, ED, medical-surgical floors, and telemetry floors. They rotate between weekends and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Uses the nursing process to provide safe patient care
• Rotates between different hospital departments as needed
• Functions independently in ICU, CVSU, ED, medical-surgical floors, and telemetry floors
• Assigns tasks based on current staffing needs
• Documents total care given and maintains patient charts
• Affixes accurate and timely entries of patient data, orders, and charges into the computer system
• Collaborates with the Chief Nursing Officer, Associate Chief Nursing Officer, Nurse Manager, and staff
• Collaborates with physicians, administrators/assistants, and peers
• Assists in problem-solving and promotes teamwork among staff, physicians, home health, and hospital-owned outpatient clinics
• Works and relates professionally with peers, physicians, administration, and visitors
• Passes a pharmacology test for this position
• Maintains attendance to yearly mandatory education requirements
• Maintains all certifications and licensure requirements on time

Qualifications

• Current RN license in state of practice
• Passing score on a pharmacology test
• Maintain all certifications and licensure requirements on time
