About the Role

The Patient Account Representative possesses knowledge of coordination of benefits, subrogation, and government regulations regarding third-party recoupment and other matters. This role requires accounting and business office skills, along with a thorough understanding of patient accounts. Excellent public relations skills are essential for addressing and resolving patient questions or complaints regarding charges.

The representative is expected to function within the scope of approved policies, procedures, and regulations for both the department and the organization. This position also involves assisting with the orientation, preceptorship, and management of personnel assigned to the unit.

Responsibilities

• Apply knowledge of coordination of benefits, subrogation, and government regulations related to third-party recoupment.
• Manage patient accounts with a strong understanding of accounting and business office practices.
• Address and resolve patient questions or complaints regarding charges in a professional manner.
• Operate within the scope of approved departmental and organizational policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Assist with the orientation, preceptorship, and management of personnel assigned to the unit.
• Work and interact professionally with peers, physicians, administration, patients, and visitors.
• Complete any additional duties assigned by the Director without complaint.
• Fulfill yearly mandatory education requirements in a timely manner.
