SMOG TECHNICIAN - LEAD

Responsibilities

• Conduct standard passenger car emissions tests using specialized diagnostic equipment to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
• Perform State of Nevada registration renewals.
• Perform vehicle inspections, including checking mechanical systems, electrical components, and exhaust systems as required for emission testing operations.
• Maintain detailed records of each test performed, inspection reports, and registration renewals.
• Communicate clearly with customers to gather data for DMV process, assist with their DMV experience, and inform customers of test results.
• Act as a liaison between DMV representatives and customers.
• Handle cash and process credit card transactions.
• Review DMV paperwork to ensure accuracy and DMV requirement compliance.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including the parking lot area, removing debris and trash, wiping down gas pumps, and emptying trash bins.
• Work with management on delivering training to new staff and scheduling Smog Techs weekly schedule.
• Assist in DMV record audits as requested.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• State of Nevada 1 G Emission Inspector License.
• State of Nevada Registration Endorsement.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift up to fifty (50) pounds.
• While on the job, employees must be able to walk, stand, bend, stoop, twist, etc. for extended periods of time.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions.
• Requires use of hands to perform activities involving holding, grasping, pulling, and turning.
