The State of Missouri, Department of Mental Health at Southeast Missouri Mental Health Center is seeking Support Care Assistants.
About the Role
Support Care Assistants provide direct care, treatment, and/or security of forensic psychiatric and/or sex offender clients in a secure setting. They assist clients with activities of daily living, collect and maintain records, observe and report on clients' conditions, and maintain a safe environment. Positions require heavy lifting and standing for extended periods.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct care, treatment, and/or security of forensic psychiatric and/or sex offender clients in a secure setting
- Assist clients with activities of daily living such as feeding, bathing, bed making, shaving, dressing, and other related tasks
- Absorb and maintain records of fluid intake and output
- Report on the condition of clients
- Observe, report, and record changes in the physical condition, behavioral response, and emotional status of clients
- Maintain a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment for client care and treatment activities
- Report to work on time and as scheduled
- Work overtime as needed to retain adequate staffing
- May perform internal environment of care checks or perform some security related functions in a mental health care setting

Minimum qualifications include being at least 18 years old, ability to work with clients with physical or mental illness, developmental disabilities, physical disabilities, and/or the geriatric population.

Pay
Base pay is $17.20 per hour with an additional $2.00 per hour (making it $19.20 per hour) for 2nd and 3rd shifts depending on scheduled hours.
