About the role
Bcore is seeking a SME Network Engineer in Chantilly, Virginia to support customer missions. The ideal candidate will have at least 16 years of experience, preferably with a bachelor's or master’s degree in relevant fields.
Responsibilities
- Build out VPCs with Linux VMs and configure them as network appliances.
- Lock down Linux OS configurations in both cloud and physical environments to meet cyber security standards.
- Configure and harden network gear including firewalls, switches, routers, IPS, etc.
- Deploy CNGA internet network infrastructure with a thorough understanding of the customer's mission.
- Work with commercial cloud service providers like Google Cloud, Azure, AWS.
- Manage commercial VPNs and commercial messaging applications (CMA).
- Support Android tablet devices.
- Resolve issues independently after hours and on weekends.
Requirements
- Minimum 16 years of experience as a Network Engineer.
- Preferred with a bachelor's or master’s degree in relevant fields.
- Experience and expertise working with commercial cloud service providers.
- Experience configuring and hardening Linux OS in both cloud and physical environments.
- Experience configuring and hardening network gear including firewalls, switches, routers, IPS, etc.
- Experience and expertise working with commercial VPNs.
- Experience working with commercial messaging applications (CMA) and Android tablet devices.
- Ability to work independently to troubleshoot and resolve issues after hours and on weekends.
Qualifications
- Experience and expertise deploying CNGA internet network infrastructure with a thorough understanding of the customer's mission.
- Working knowledge and expertise using the customer’s core appliances and services to include their networks.
- Working knowledge and experience with the customer’s core networks.
Skills
- Experience with commercial cloud service providers (Google Cloud, Azure, AWS).
- Experience configuring and hardening Linux OS in both cloud and physical environments.
- Experience configuring and hardening network gear including firewalls, switches, routers, IPS, etc.

Pay
The expected salary range within the Washington, DC metropolitan area is $195,000 - $225,000. Final compensation is unique to each individual and will be determined based on factors such as experience, education, geographic location, and contractual requirements.
