About the role

The Energy Engineer role is a hybrid remote/in-office position supporting Siemens' Canton, MA branch, serving customers in the greater Boston, MA area. Responsibilities

  • Conduct facility site visits and analyze current situations to identify Facility Improvement Measures (FIMs).
  • Lead existing building commissioning and perform facility audits to find opportunities for improvement.
  • Participate in pre-sale activities, working with sales to identify and qualify customer opportunities for energy efficiency.
  • Collaborate with Siemens operations teams and vendors to develop and execute performance contracts.
  • Analyze blueprints and perform site surveys to assess mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
  • Develop energy, cooling, and heating load-building models using building energy simulation programs.
  • Perform industry-standard energy calculations and develop design concepts and schematics for recommended FIMs.
  • Create financial models including ROI, life cycle costs, and internal rate of return.
  • Work with the Digital Service Team on Smart Building solutions, aligning with Siemens' digitalization strategy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field.
  • Energy Manager or Professional Engineer certification.
  • 3+ years of energy industry experience supporting performance-based projects or energy services.
  • Experience with standard ASHRAE energy calculations.
  • Verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office.
  • Must be 21 years of age and have a valid driver's license with limited violations.

Qualifications

  • Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree, 3+ years of energy industry experience, basic energy calculations, verbal and written communication skills, and a valid driver's license.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Commissioning Professional certification, 7+ years of experience, advanced energy calculations, and experience with ASHRAE standards.

Benefits

Details regarding our comprehensive benefits package can be found here. The pay range for this position is $73,756 - $126,439 annually with a target incentive of 5% of the base salary. The actual wage offered may vary based on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, and qualifications.
