About the role

The Assembler is responsible for building, assembling, and testing rotary positive blowers and gas pumps according to Engineering specifications, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and production standards. Duties include preparing parts for assembly, fitting bearings to heads and shafts, sizing and bending tubing, installing gears, mechanical seals, and setting build clearances to design specifications. Slip-tests and leak tests are performed as needed, and all necessary records are completed.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares parts for assembly by cleaning and filing.
  • Fits bearings to heads and shafts.
  • Sizes and bends tubing.
  • Installs gears, mechanical seals, and sets build clearances to design specs.
  • Performs slip-tests on all units.
  • Performs leak tests using air or inert gas to check for casting imperfections.
  • Operates and interfaces with advanced assembly tooling such as DC drivers, PLC, Easy-Arm, etc.
  • Completes written records such as check sheets, clearance sheets, pressure tests, etc. as required.
  • Transfers, loads, and unloads blowers to/from paint conveyor as required.
  • Performs in-process quality checks and accurately fills out all Production, Quality, and EHS associated documentation.
  • Operates cranes equipped with a cab, pendant, or radio control to determine proper rigging for crane lifts and assist where required.
  • Operates gas and battery-powered equipment, or handcarts to transport or position materials, parts, supplies, units, etc. within the shop.
  • Accurately reports labor transactions and material counts manually or electronically.
  • Maintains a clean and orderly work area by performing duties such as returning tooling, parts, and equipment to proper storage, wiping off machines, disposing of trash, and broom sweeping work areas.
  • Observes plant rules and safe working practices.

Qualifications

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively.
  • Open to any shift, holidays, weekends, and overtime.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Moderate computer literacy.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $XX/X based on experience and qualifications. The actual compensation will be determined during the hiring process.

Schedule

This position is available on a 1st shift schedule from Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM.
