Small Parts Casting Operator I

About the role

Trojan Battery Company is seeking a driven and thorough individual for the Parts Casting role. Key responsibilities include loading lead bars into lead pots for melting, removing finished parts from molds, inspecting parts for defects, placing them in bins, and moving full bins on pallets. Other duties involve maintaining Lean activities, adhering to the Quality Policy, ensuring safe performance, wearing appropriate PPE, and completing production and scrap reports.

Responsibilities

• Loading lead bars into lead pots for melting
• Removing finished parts from molds
• Inspecting parts for defects
• Placing inspected parts in bins
• Moving full bins on pallets
• Using acetylene torch to smoke mold and scraper to remove excess smoke
• Applying talc to mold
• Checking ladle and lead injector for dross buildup
• Remelting process material at the end of the shift
• Using forklift to provide supplies and move materials
• Completing production and scrap reports at the end of the shift

Requirements

The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 1 year of experience in a heat-treated environment. Forklift certification, basic English proficiency, and basic math skills are also required. Must be clean-shaven and capable of lifting 50 lbs. and standing for long periods of time.

Qualifications

Basic English proficiency to interpret work and apply safety instructions. Basic math proficiency (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).

Skills

Must be able to work in extreme temperatures and heavy environments. Must follow strict hygiene rules including mandatory showering and lunch breaks on site.
