About the role
We are searching for a Certified Fitness Trainer to join our team. As a member of our team, you will run the Planet Fitness group fitness program (PE@PF), assist new members in achieving their fitness goals by designing simple workout programs, and instruct them on the proper use of equipment. If you are an energetic, self-motivated individual with a positive attitude, we want you on our team.
Responsibilities
- Planet Fitness PE@PF program
- Run small group focused PE@PF programs and create schedules for members.
- Consult with members regarding their fitness goals and instruct them on how to properly and safely use the equipment.
- Create bi-weekly updates consisting of a variety of exercises.
- Meet class requirements based on club size and member traffic.
- Customer Service/Front Desk Activities
- Greet members and guests, providing exceptional customer service to make members feel comfortable and welcomed.
- Answer phones in a friendly manner and assist callers with a variety of questions.
- Check members in, tour and sign up new members, log amenities, and communicate updates and events.
- Respond to member questions and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Conduct beverage or merchandise purchases on the point of sale system.
- Utilize POS system to assist with new membership cards, change of address, and billing or payment questions.
- Elevate member concerns to Assistant Manager or Manager as needed.
- Club Cleanliness and Maintenance
- Keep the facility clean and orderly, going above and beyond standard expectations.
- Perform regular facility cleaning and upkeep such as mopping spills, trash removal, cleaning windows and mirrors, and re-racking weights.
- Clean all exercise equipment and tanning beds regularly.
- Clean and stock restrooms and wet areas.
Requirements
- A passion for fitness and health.
- Upbeat and positive attitude.
- 6-12 months of customer service experience is preferred.
- High school diploma/GED equivalent required.
- Current CPR Certification required.
- Nationally Certified Training Certificate required.
- Ability to pass background screening required.
- Basic computer proficiency with an eye for accuracy.
- Punctuality and reliability is a must.

- Exceptional customer service skills; able to interact positively and professionally with members and co-workers.
- Strong listener with the ability to empathize and problem solve.
- Demonstrate diplomacy in all interactions while using appropriate behavior and language.
Physical Demands
- Continual standing and walking during shift.
- Continual talking in person or on the phone during shift.
- Must be able to occasionally lift up to 75 lbs.
- Will occasionally encounter toxic chemicals during shift.
