About the Role
We are searching for a Certified Fitness Trainer to join our team. As a member of our team, you will run the Planet Fitness group fitness program (PE@PF), assist new members in achieving their fitness goals by designing simple workout programs, and instruct them on the proper use of equipment. If you are an energetic, self-motivated individual with a positive attitude, we want you on our team!
Responsibilities
- Run PE@PF programs for participants (3-8 people per session) and create schedules for members.
- Consult with members regarding their fitness goals and instruct them on how to properly and safely use the equipment.
- Create bi-weekly updates consisting of a variety of exercises and meet class requirements based on club size and member traffic.
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting members and guests, making them feel comfortable and welcomed.
- Answer phones, assist callers with questions, check members in, and conduct tours for new members.
- Log amenities, communicate updates and events, and respond to member questions and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Conduct beverage or merchandise purchases on the point-of-sale system and assist with membership cards, billing, or payment questions.
- Maintain club cleanliness and perform regular facility cleaning and upkeep, including mopping spills, trash removal, cleaning windows, mirrors, and equipment, and restocking restrooms.
Requirements
- A passion for fitness and health.
- Upbeat and positive attitude.
- 6-12 months of customer service experience is preferred.
- High school diploma/GED equivalent required.
- Current CPR Certification required.
- Nationally Certified Training Certificate required.
- Ability to pass a background screening.
- Basic computer proficiency with an eye for accuracy.
- Punctuality and reliability.
- Exceptional customer service skills and ability to interact positively with members and co-workers.
- Strong listening skills with the ability to empathize and problem-solve.
- Demonstrate diplomacy in all interactions while using appropriate behavior and language.
Physical Demands
- Continual standing and walking during shift.
- Continual talking in person or on the phone during shift.
- Must be able to occasionally lift up to 75 lbs.
- Will occasionally encounter toxic chemicals during shift.
