Small Engine Service Technician

Responsibilities

• Responsible for maintenance and repair of small engines
• Operates all equipment used, and be available to use this equipment when needed.
• Performs preventive maintenance work, such as checking oil and fluid levels
• Maintains inventory records on repairs made, parts ordered, and parts inventory.
• Accurately inspect, test and diagnose malfunctions
• Give prompt, accurate estimate and expedite priority jobs
• Ensure repairs are safe and within manufacture guidelines, encourage repairs that follow manufacturer's schedules of maintenance
• Maintain accurate, organized and thorough records
• Maintain clean, safe, neat and productive work area
• Performs other duties as required.

Requirements

• High school diploma and two years’ work experience in mechanical operation, repair and maintenance of small engine equipment or similar field experience
• Ability to lift minimum of 50 pounds above shoulders without assistance
• Working knowledge of safety practices and procedures while making mechanical repairs; knowledge of various machines; working knowledge of maintenance and repair
• Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair equipment with accuracy and speed, ability to create effective working relationships with employees; verbal/written communication
• Familiarity with chain and blade sharpening
• Analytical, troubleshooting, and testing skills
• Facilitate standing, stooping, bending and kneeling for prolonged periods of time
