About the role
The primary role of the Small Engine Mechanic is to process all work orders for customer repairs, as well as servicing/repairing their equipment. The range of equipment includes Stihl power equipment, primarily 2-cycle handheld units.
Responsibilities
- Must have knowledge of 2-cycle small engines
- Basic computer skills to access information online
- Provide high-quality repair services on all work orders
- Ensure the safe use of equipment & tools
- Responsible for completing all warranty paperwork in a timely manner
- Responsible for communicating special order parts for all work orders
- Responsible for completing service work in a timely manner
- Provide a safe environment by keeping work areas clean & organized
- Possess strong communication skills as customer interaction may be frequent
- May be required to cross-train and perform other duties
- Ability to participate in the equipment sales process is highly desired
Qualifications
- Applicants must be able to demonstrate the ability and knowledge required for this position, including having a minimum of three years of related professional experience
- The candidate shall also possess good customer communication skills
- Stihl certification is preferred but will train as necessary
- Excellent communication skills, high attention to detail, and ability to multitask
- Ability to stand for an extended period of time
- Able to walk, reach, climb ladders, and bend to perform job duties
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs frequently
