Small Engine Mechanic

About the role

Six Flags is currently hiring a Small Engine Mechanic in their landscaping department. The role involves maintaining and keeping the park and Hurricane Harbor beautiful throughout every season.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safe operation of the theme parks landscape tools and equipment.
• Inspect and repair lawn mowers, chainsaws, blowers, snow throwers and rototillers, weed eaters, power pruners and shears, water pumps.
• Keep all records and documentation updated daily, accessible, and organized.
• Ensure that manufacturer's specifications, procedures, and State Regulations are complied with and documented.
• Operate within the policies and procedures of Six Flags.
• Keep a parts inventory, record all used parts and notify supervisors of any parts and materials necessary to ensure safe and continuous operation.
• Maintain good housekeeping standards and ensure shop and equipment are clean and visually in compliance with manufacturer's specifications, guest and Six Flags expectations.
• Direct, advise and/or work in conjunction with other trades, in a Team environment.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must have 3-4 years of experience in repairing small engines and upkeeping equipment.
• Able to communicate effectively in the English language, including the ability to read, speak, and understand the English Language.
• Flexible Schedule required, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Must be able to stand/walk for up to 6 hours at a time, and as many as 14 hours a day.
• Must be able to walk up to 3 miles per day over various surfaces.
