Small Engine Mechanic

Six Flags is currently hiring a Small Engine Mechanic in our landscaping department. With over 500 acres to maintain and keep presentable for our guests, landscaping is no easy feat! You will be part of a dedicated, hardworking team that ensures the Theme Park and Hurricane Harbor remain beautiful through every season. This role is responsible for the proper maintenance and upkeep of landscape tools and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safe operation of the theme park's landscape tools and equipment.
• Inspect and repair:
  • Lawnmowers
  • Chainsaws
  • Blowers
  • Snow Throwers and Rototillers
  • Weed Eaters
  • Power Pruners and Shears
  • Water Pumps
• Keep all records and documentation updated daily, accessible, and organized.
• Ensure compliance and documentation of manufacturer's specifications, procedures, and State Regulations.
• Operate within the policies and procedures of Six Flags.
• Maintain a parts inventory, record all used parts, and notify supervisors of any parts and materials necessary to ensure safe and continuous operation.
• Maintain good housekeeping standards and ensure shop and equipment are clean and visually in compliance with manufacturer's specifications, guest, and Six Flags expectations.
• Direct, advise, and/or work in conjunction with other trades in a team environment.
• Perform physical tasks including:
  • Standing for long periods of time
  • Climbing stairs and ladders repeatedly
  • Bending, stooping, twisting, crawling, kneeling
  • Pushing, pulling, and working overhead using both hands
  • Lifting 50 pounds without injury
  • Working in all weather conditions
• Read, write, add, subtract, work with fractional and decimal systems, and implement maintenance, safety, and inspection procedures.
• All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must have 3-4 years of experience in repairing small engines and upkeeping equipment.
• Able to communicate effectively in the English language, including the ability to read, speak, and understand English.
• Flexible schedule required, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Must be able to stand/walk for up to 6 hours at a time, and as many as 14 hours a day.
• Must be able to walk up to 3 miles per day over various surfaces.
