What You’ll Do

  • Trading and Execution: Execute trades efficiently and in compliance with best execution practices. Monitor market conditions and adjust portfolios as necessary.
  • Structured Solutions Oversight: Partner with internal teams and external financial institutions to analyze, perform diligence, and oversee structured equity monetization transactions, including documentation review, exposure modeling, and ongoing post-execution monitoring.
  • Portfolio Management: Manage SMA portfolios, leveraging various tools, such as optimizers, risk models, and dashboards. Ensure portfolios are aligned with clients' investment objectives and risk tolerance.
  • Investment Strategy: Implement investment strategies tailored to individual client needs, including tax-aware management of concentrated equity positions. This may include evaluating and coordinating derivative-based monetization and hedging strategies (e.g., collars, spreads, prepaid variable forwards, and other structured solutions) in partnership with approved third-party counterparties.
  • Client Engagement: Maintain strong relationships with clients, provide regular updates on portfolio performance and address any inquiries or concerns. Participate in client meetings and reviews.
  • Performance Monitoring: Continuously monitor portfolio performance and risk metrics. Prepare detailed performance reports and conduct performance attribution analysis.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with research analysts, traders, and other portfolio managers to share insights and develop cohesive investment strategies. Collaborate with the client service team to ensure seamless client experience.
  • Compliance: Ensure all investment activities comply with regulatory requirements and internal policies. Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for all managed accounts.

What You Have

  • A natural problem solver with high attention to detail and a penchant for accuracy.
  • A strong understanding and an ability to manage portfolio risk.
  • A strong understanding of equity, derivative, and fixed income markets.
  • Excellent analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to conduct detailed investment analysis.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain client relationships.
  • Proficiency in portfolio management software and trading platforms.
  • A high level of integrity and professionalism.

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field; advanced degree or CFA/FRM designations preferred.
  • Experience using optimizers, such as those offered by Northfield, Axioma, Barra, Bloomberg, or Factset is highly preferred.
  • Experience trading and implementing option strategies on portfolios, particularly concentrated monetization strategies, including variable forwards, collars, spreads, or similar derivative-based liquidity or risk mitigating solutions, is preferred.
  • Experience working with external trading desks, structuring teams, or custodians on complex equity or derivative transactions.
  • Experience trading and implementing long-short portfolios is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience required.
