SMA & ETF Trading Associate - Options Strategies

About the role

NorthCoast Asset Management is seeking an SMA & ETF Trading Associate - Option Strategies to join our team in Stamford, CT. This role focuses on trade execution, including building, executing, and allocating trades across 7,000+ client accounts, as well as maintaining and developing automation processes for operations and trading teams. The position requires a presence in the Stamford office five days a week.

The firm combines macroeconomic analysis, quantitative modeling, and disciplined risk controls to actively navigate evolving market environments.

Responsibilities

• Build, execute, and allocate trades across 7,000+ client accounts
• Research and resolve trade and position breaks with executing brokers
• Review client-specific restrictions
• Maintain trade execution data for TCA analysis and compile performance results for composites
• Maintain and develop automation processes for operations and trading teams using Visual Basic and/or Python
• Cross-train with the operations group to reconcile client portfolio data, research and resolve cash-related inquiries, and resolve failing transactions with custodians and counterparties

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree
• 2+ years of relevant experience
• Ability to handwrite 200+ lines of code in Python
• High attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Proactive communication and follow-up skills
• Intermediary knowledge of Microsoft products, especially Excel

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience managing investment strategies offered in a publicly traded ETF format, alongside separately managed account strategies
• Knowledge of SS&C Technologies GWP, Visual Basic, and Python (training available)
• Positive attitude and high energy level

Pay

The annualized base pay range for this role is $115,000–$130,000. Actual base pay may vary based on factors including experience, subject matter expertise, geographic location, and skill set. Additional rewards may include an annual cash bonus.
