About the role

Texas Instruments is looking for an energetic engineer with a passion for process. This position provides the opportunity to drive continual improvement at all levels. Our team is primarily focused on driving improved procedures and processes in a high-volume 300mm wafer Fab running Analog Technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Support manufacturing operations in a high-interrupt and rapidly ramping tool install environment.
  • Develop and implement improved methods of manufacturing, procedures, and processes that result in improved efficiencies, yields, machine operations, and quality.
  • Implement project or improvement plans for areas of responsibility including efficiency improvements, cost reduction or quality improvement programs, new product support, and other process improvements.
  • Perform lot and equipment dispositions to support continuous flow of production and minimize cycle time.
  • Identify systematic problems in either process or equipment-related sources and communicate findings to the engineering staff continuously.
  • Support the manufacturing ramp with execution of equipment/process startup and process experiments (SWRs).
  • Participate in data analysis and problem resolution.
  • Collaborate across teams to solve fab priorities, which can change quickly.
  • Lead Quality Event Management: Identify and resolve quality excursions, determine root causes, and contain/disposition affected material.
  • Enable flawless execution: Develop and execute strategies for handling out-of-control (OOC) and out-of-specification (OOS) lots, as well as YE down dispositions.
  • Drive process stability: Own Statistical Factory Control (SFC) and continuously improve inline performance to ensure stable processes and high yields. Identify and lead chamber/tool matching opportunities.
  • Operational improvements: Identify and execute opportunities to maximize output of installed capacity (MOOI) and reduce cycle time (CT). Implement Smart Manufacturing and Automation (SMA) solutions and reduce WIP wait time.
  • Training and development: Contribute to the growth of Process Engineering Technicians through training and development. Create tools to improve team efficiency (reports/visualizations) and document new learnings in disposition specs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field.
  • 3+ years of relevant Process Engineering experience.
  • Strong foundation in statistical process control, engineering change control, and process release strategies.
  • Ability to work a 12-hour compressed A or C shift work schedule.

Qualifications

  • Experience with CVD, PVD, Implant, and/or Epi and associated processes or strong ability to learn processes.
  • Strong understanding of semiconductor manufacturing processes, including familiarity with 300mm wafer fabrication, process control, and yield enhancement techniques.
  • Ability to identify and mitigate risks associated with process changes, equipment maintenance, and quality events.
  • Proficiency in Statistical Process Control (SPC) and data analysis to identify trends, correlations, and root causes of process variations.
  • Effective problem-solving skills to identify and resolve process issues and troubleshoot equipment and process problems.
  • Commitment to quality and safety, maintaining accurate records, following procedures, and ensuring compliance with standards.
  • Leadership and teamwork abilities to resolve quality events, implement process improvements, and achieve operational excellence.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams, including production, maintenance, and quality teams.
  • Proactive and results-driven mindset with the ability to take initiative and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Proficiency with Python, Claude, or other AI modules or tools is a plus.
  • Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in teams and collaborate effectively with people in different functions.
  • Strong time management skills enabling on-time project delivery.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong, influential relationships.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment.
