About the role

The Speech-Language Pathologist in the school setting is responsible for performing student evaluations as well as providing and documenting therapy services in accordance with the plan of care developed for each individual student and the physician's orders.

Responsibilities

  • Perform student evaluations
  • Provide and document therapy services
  • Develop and implement treatment plans based on evaluations
  • Document progress and outcomes in accordance with professional standards
  • Adhere to all relevant professional standards of practice

Requirements

  • Active Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) licensure in the state of assignment required
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) preferred and may be required by state/contract
  • Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice
  • Current CPR if applicable
  • TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
  • Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
  • Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years of age

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
  • Experience working in a school or clinical setting
  • Knowledge of speech-language pathology techniques and interventions
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
