Responsibilities

• Affirms the needs of pupils with speech or language disorders and matches them with programs available through the educational system.
• Reports progress to faculty members and meets with them regularly to discuss student skills.
• Develops individual speech and language programs based on assessment results.
• Participates in the eligibility and planning required for the development of the IEP when a communication disorder is present.
• Performs repeat evaluations on a regular basis to measure progress according to professional guidelines.
• Creates and accesses multiple types of databases; utilizes internet-based IEP document programs such as SEIS or SIRAS; proficient in creating documents using MS Office Power Point, Excel, and Word.
• Travels to school sites within the assigned region.
• Attends IEP meetings.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Valid SLP License / CTC Credential or eligibility for a state waiver OR valid CA license/RPE from the Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology Board.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office or similar software.

Qualifications

• Experience in school-based speech-language pathology.
• Knowledge of special education and IEP processes.
• Ability to travel to school sites within the assigned region.
