Slots - Slot Technician II

About the role

Responsible for the overall repair and maintenance of all electrical and mechanical slot machines. Team Member will work under general supervision, carrying out responsibilities while relying on experience and very good judgment to perform the functions of the job.

Responsibilities

• Support and uphold Valley View Casino & Hotel's Standards of Excellence, Mission and Vision Statements as outlined in the Team Member Guide to Success.
• Maintain positive guest relations at all times, resolving guest complaints and ensuring guest satisfaction.
• Greet guests in a courteous and caring manner using personalized service.
• Repair, overhaul, and perform proper preventative maintenance of all electrical and mechanical slot machines in accordance with gaming regulations.
• Perform floor repair and proper preventative maintenance of all slot machines, including cleaning machines, overhauls, etc.
• Handle initial set-up and check out of new slot machines.
• Assist in the breakdown, relocation, and reset-up of machines and stands to be relocated.
• Assist Slot Floor Person in verifying jackpots and fills as needed.
• Assist in ensuring machine integrity when jackpots occur and at other times requested.
• Maintain a working knowledge of company facilities and special events on property to advise guests and fellow Team Members.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
• Conduct all responsibilities in a professional and ethical manner.
• Maintain a consistent, regular attendance record.
• Adhere to performance standards, company policies and procedures as they relate to the department.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Two years of experience in slot machine repair and maintenance or related field, or one year of experience as Slot Technician I.
• Working knowledge of primary game setups and RAM clears.
• Strong understanding of electronic and mechanical systems.
• Knowledge of local jurisdiction gaming laws and attendant regulations as well as the Company's internal controls, policies and procedures.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and guest service skills.
• Ability to speak and understand the English language.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents such as safety rules, instructions, guidelines, operating and maintenance instructions, and policies and procedure manuals written in English.
• Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form referring back to established guidelines and policies and procedures.
• Ability to define problems involving several concrete variables, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions to carry out primary duties, responsibilities, and tasks.
• Ability to work with mathematical concepts, including fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions, and apply them to practical situations.
• Must use good judgment when providing information to guests and maintain positive guest relations at all times.
• Must apply for, receive, and maintain a Gaming License from the Tribal Gaming Agency.
• Must be able to successfully pass applicable auditions or skill testing and a drug screening test.

Preferred qualifications

• Technical Certificate in Electronics, computer hardware, computer software, or related field.
