About the role
The Slot Technician I, under the direction of the Slot Technician Supervisor, is responsible for the day-to-day repairs of slot machines, performing preventative maintenance, and investigating device malfunctions. The position executes machine moves, conversions, installations, and upgrades as directed. Additionally, the role involves responding to slot and customer service-related issues while providing attentive, cheerful, and professional customer service to all customers, both internal and external.
Responsibilities
- Comply with internal control standards and maintain proper documentation related to compliance.
- Review work orders to determine tasks, tools, parts, and equipment required for assignments.
- Participate in, coordinate, and complete the installation, movement, and removal of slot machines and related equipment.
- Ensure all slot machines are secure and the work environment is safe for guests and team members.
- Assist in the jackpot payout process when needed.
- Assist the Floorperson as required.
- Adhere to all company and departmental policies and procedures.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Experience working in a casino setting preferred.
- Must undergo a criminal background investigation under National Indian Gaming Commission rules.
- Mechanical and electrical aptitude preferred.
- Knowledgeable in using hand tools, hand-powered tools, soldering, and electronic testing equipment preferred.
- Flexible availability to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective communication with co-workers, supervisors, and guests.
- Sound decision-making skills.
- Knowledge of slot machine brands and operations preferred.
- Knowledge of casino operations preferred.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to learn and use word processing, spreadsheet, and database software.
- Self-motivated.
- Native American preferred.
Skills
- Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting.

Physical Requirements
- Frequent lifting/carrying up to 50 pounds; occasional lifting up to 100 pounds.
- Constant standing, walking, use of hearing, and near vision.
- Frequent pushing/pulling, reaching, manual handling, use of midrange/far vision, color, and field of vision.
- Occasional sitting, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crawling, use of smell, depth perception, and typing.
- Frequent exposure to noise and air quality; occasional exposure to weather, extreme heat/cold, wet/humidity, and vibration.
- Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts and electric shock; occasional exposure to highly exposed places, chemicals, infectious materials, and equipment.
- Protective equipment/clothing required, including hand, eye, and other protection as needed.
