Slot Shift Manager
About the Role
Responsible for the overall daily service activity of the entire slot floor. Ensures staff provides outstanding guest service and develops guest relationships to encourage frequent gaming. Acts as the primary compliance contact during specified shifts and performs Casino Manager duties as assigned.
Responsibilities
- Manages slot operations to ensure delivery of excellent guest service.
- Acts as primary manager on duty and casino manager when assigned.
- Resolves difficult guest service concerns, including payment disputes in accordance with department guidelines.
- Ensures compliance with all policies, procedures, and regulations, including monitoring and reporting of Title 31.
- Verifies and authorizes jackpots and fills in accordance with minimum internal control standards.
- Evaluates staffing levels and adjusts or requests additional staffing as needed.
- Reviews weekly payroll reports and PTO approvals.
- Interviews, selects, and hires new team members.
- Completes performance appraisals on direct reports and reviews indirect team member performance reviews.
- Trains, motivates, and develops team members.
- Observes guest interactions and coaches team members to achieve outstanding performance.
- Establishes relationships with guests through regular interaction.
- Reviews daily shift reports, team member counsels, guest service reports, incident and injury reports, compliance issues, and other correspondence to identify inconsistencies and remedies.
- Acts as Casino Manager on duty as needed.
- Ensures business needs are communicated among all service areas.
- Prepares monthly financial observations regarding guest service, inventory, staffing, and par levels of bill banks, addressing variances.
- Authorizes and issues complimentaries according to approval guidelines.
- Acts as observer and signatory in asset control procedures.
- Reviews policies and procedures and makes recommendations for changes.
- Verifies and approves jackpots and short-pays.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- High school graduate or GED.
- Three years of experience in Slot Operations, with at least one year in a supervisory capacity.
- Thorough knowledge of Currency Transaction Reporting rules and processes.
- Thorough knowledge of all applicable Federal, State, and local gaming regulations.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
- Demonstrated leadership skills.
- Self-guided, creative, responsible, and high-energy with a willingness to work with other departments and independently.
- Eagerness to contribute to projects and learn new skills.
- Passion for attracting, retaining, engaging, and building talent.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Excellent guest service skills.
- Proficiency in word-processing, spreadsheets, electronic mail, and current slot systems software.
- Skilled in practical problem-solving for team members, guests, and machine technical functions.
