Slitting Lead - 12-hour

About the role

ARMOR-IIMAK is seeking a Slitter Crew Lead to support the production team by troubleshooting, setting up machines, and ensuring lean manufacturing practices are adhered to.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot any machine issues
• Aid in set-ups providing technical assistance as needed
• Lead the 6S program, looking for ways to reduce scrap, defects, waste, and improve energy management
• Ensure robot cells are operational, filling in during breaks and lunches
• Continuously seek improvements to increase efficiency while maintaining or improving safety
• Sustain a positive work environment
• Fill out daily shift reports as required by Production Supervisor or Manager
• Perform other duties as assigned by Operations or Leadership

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of six months machine operation experience
• Good math and reading skills, including the ability to interpret slitting specifications and standard operating procedures
• Basic computer skills
• Knowledge of packing requirements is preferred
• Positive interpersonal skills for effective teamwork
• Commonsense understanding to carry out written or oral instructions and deal with problems involving some variability
• Ability to frequently lift 10 to 35 pounds and carry/pull this weight
• Positive interpersonal skills to perform effectively in a team environment
