Sleep Technologist Apprentice

About the role

The Sleep Technologist Apprentice will be trained for setting up and operating Polysomnographic equipment to be utilized in the diagnosis and treatment of sleep related disorders. In addition, the technologist will be trained to have a thorough understanding of all monitored parameters which are utilized in the computer scoring and preparation of Polysomnographic reports. Ability to institute and maintain life saving measures is required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Associates Degree in the Health Sciences required
• Customer service experience required
• Related work experience aligned with degree preferred

Qualifications

• Completion of all 23 Modules of Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (BRPT)/ AASM A-Step Program to be able to take the Registry for Polysomnography within 3 years from date of hire
• Maintains continuing education units as required by PSGT Certification
• BLS Certification through American Heart Association

Skills

• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Willingness and ability to work rotating shifts
• Willingness and ability to perform self-study and on-line training
• Knowledge of infection control
• Demonstrated safe, knowledgeable practice skills at all times based on theory and consistent with Policies and Procedures
• Ability to communicate clearly both written and verbal
• Demonstrated moderate knowledge of basic computer skills

Pay

Pay Range: $19.97 - $29.09
