Sleep Respiratory Therapist
About the role
The Full-time Sleep Respiratory Therapist position at Dayton Children’s South Campus is located within the Sleep Clinic and Diagnostic Labs department. Under the supervision of the Sleep Clinic/Labs Manager and Medical Director, this role involves providing patient education on sleep-related breathing disorders and PAP therapy, monitoring PAP compliance, and verifying settings.
Supports clinic intake, patient education, and assists with medical complex cases and daytime sleep procedures such as PAP naps, desensitization MSLTs, and Actigraphy.
Acts as a discharge planner, assessing and managing home respiratory care, coordinating resources, and facilitating discharge plans including oxygen and PAP devices. Collaborates with care teams and advocates for patients and families, building community and provider relationships.
Responsibilities
- Provides patient education on sleep-related breathing disorders and PAP therapy
- Makes rounds to monitor PAP compliance and verify settings
- Sets up and oversees daytime sleep procedures such as PAP naps, desensitization MSLTs, and Actigraphy
- Assists with medical complex cases
- Acts as a discharge planner, assessing and managing home respiratory care
- Collaborates with care teams and advocates for patients and families
Requirements
- Associate’s Degree in Respiratory Care
- 2-3 years pediatric respiratory care experience
- RCP license
- BLS certification
- Strong communication skills
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Respiratory Care preferred
- 1 year sleep lab experience preferred
- SDS or RPSGT certification preferred
- Expertise in sleep breathing disorders preferred
Skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of sleep-related breathing disorders
- Experience with PAP therapy and monitoring

$40.00 - $45.00 per hour based on experience and qualifications.
Schedule
Monday to Friday, 8-hour days, four days a week.
