Sleep Lab & EEG Manager
About the Role
This position is responsible for managing the daily operations of sleep lab and EEG services. Works collaboratively with the Sleep Center Medical Director and Sr. Director of Ancillary Services to assure sleep technologist staff produce high-quality sleep and EEG testing in accordance with the standards set forth by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) and ABRET for neurodiagnostic testing and credentialing, and other regulatory bodies. This position oversees all sleep lab and EEG staffing, training, and supervision of personnel, encompassing operations, patient care outcomes, service excellence, human resource issues, fiscal management, quality improvement compliance, budgeting, and communication. Emphasis is placed on creating a positive environment that fosters professional growth and retention.
Responsibilities
- Represents the organization in a professional manner to patients, providers, visitors, and other staff members through appropriate language, dress, and conduct.

Requirements
- Associate’s degree in sciences, healthcare, or equivalent (required). Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare-related field or business administration (preferred).
- American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) credentials as Registered Polysomnography Technologist (RPSGT), or American Board of Sleep Medicine (ABSM) credentials as Registered Sleep Technologist (RST), or National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) credentials as Certified Respiratory Therapist-Sleep Disorders Specialist (CRT-SDS) or Registered Respiratory Therapist-Sleep Disorders Specialist (RRT-SDS) (required). If not RPSGT credentialed, must obtain CPSGT or equivalent within 1 year of hire or 6 months of eligibility.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required).
- Two years’ management or leadership experience (required).
- Computer literacy and ability to learn and apply new information quickly.
- Ability to interpret insurance needs and offer appropriate solutions to customers.
- Ability to multi-task in a team environment with concise and accurate documentation practices.
- Self-assured, tactful, and supportive in maintaining and fostering relationships with healthcare entities.
- Working knowledge of current Medicare, Medicaid, and insurance regulations related to sleep lab operations.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in healthcare management (preferred).
- Related sales and/or customer service experience (preferred).
Physical Requirements
- Sufficient auditory ability to detect and respond to various sounds, including patient alarms and verbal communication.
- Visual acuity for observing patient conditions, reading documentation and monitors, and distinguishing colors for clinical purposes.
- Tactile perception for assessing physical characteristics such as temperature, size, shape, or texture during patient care.
- Motor coordination for reaching, grasping, handling, and performing fine motor tasks necessary for medical equipment use.
- Occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling when assisting patients or accessing equipment.
- Continuous walking and standing throughout the shift.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds independently and frequent pushing, pulling, carrying, or repositioning of objects or patients weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Occasional lifting or transferring of individuals weighing over 100 pounds with appropriate lifting techniques, mechanical aids, or team assistance.
- Ability to sit for long periods of time.
Working Conditions
- Primarily performed in an indoor healthcare environment, such as a hospital, clinic, or long-term care facility.
- Exposure to variable indoor temperatures and frequent exposure to infectious and contagious diseases, hazardous materials, and medical equipment.
- Fast-paced and unpredictable environment requiring the ability to respond quickly to changing circumstances, including high-pressure or emergency situations.
- Multiple simultaneous demands and varying levels of noise due to medical equipment, staff activity, and patient needs.
