SLCM-N Deputy Project Manager of Operations (DPMO)

About the Role

General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Sea Launched Cruise Missile-Nuclear (SLCM-N) Deputy Project Manager of Operations (DPMO). This position provides an opportunity to enhance performance and profitability while supporting fundamental defense services. You will work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions for high-stakes national security missions and be part of a new program from the ground up in Pittsfield Manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and performs complex cross-functional tasks supporting the operations/manufacturing organization.
• Leads development of manufacturing and operations plans, schedules, and facilitates assigned projects.
• Participates in proposal efforts for SLCM-N.
• Leads implementation and tailoring of contractual requirements.
• Generates program documentation specific to Operations/Manufacturing and Supply Chain.
• Represents Manufacturing in Make/Buy decisions at the program level.
• Leads coordination within Manufacturing for development/qualification builds and plant layout.
• Serves as primary point of contact for Transition to Production (TTP) activities.
• Acts as primary liaison to Program Management and the program IPT.
• Manages cost/schedule performance and resource data.
• Coordinates manufacturing activity to achieve 100% on-time delivery.
• Maintains capital equipment and overhead budget requirements.
• Prepares departmental reports, purchases, requests, training plans, and other data.
• Reviews design work requiring independent evaluation and application of standard engineering techniques.
• Works with engineering to ensure practicality of designs and assists in solving production difficulties.
• Directs work and provides technical direction to lower-level specialists and technicians.
• Reviews and approves specifications and drawings for technical accuracy.
• Implements new manufacturing systems and generates supporting operational documentation.
• Assists engineering in evaluating new manufacturing systems.
• Interfaces with engineering, quality control, manufacturing, purchasing, and other groups to complete project plans.
• Works independently with minimal supervision and technical assistance.
• Interfaces with external customers including PMO & DCMA.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience plus a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree.
• Manufacturing background.
• EVMS Certification required.

Pay

Target salary range: USD $100,219.00/Yr. - USD $108,440.00/Yr. This estimate represents the typical salary range based on experience and geographic location.

Schedule

This position is fully on-site in Pittsfield, Massachusetts.
