About the Role

While completing CNA training, you will be paid for your time worked. Classes are held at East Glen from Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM for about 6 weeks. Once training is complete, you will take a test and become certified.

Responsibilities

  • Provide residents with routine daily personal care and services in accordance with the resident’s assessment and plan of care.
  • Provide personal care and activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
  • Keep residents' rooms and care areas clean and neat.
  • Participate in the orientation of new residents to the facility.
  • Document care as instructed and required.
  • Report all changes in the resident’s condition (e.g., areas of redness, skin tears, bruising, mental status change, eating habits) to the charge nurse.
  • Check assigned residents routinely to ensure their personal care needs are being met.
  • Assist in transporting residents to/from dining room, therapy, activity, and social programs as necessary.
  • Monitor and record vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature, respiration) and report changes to nursing staff.
  • Encourage residents to participate in activity programs and assist as needed.
  • Perform restorative and rehabilitative procedures as instructed.
  • Assist with lifting, turning, moving, positioning, and transporting residents using appropriate techniques.
  • Serve meals and assist with feeding as necessary.
  • Respond to call lights and resident requests promptly and courteously.
  • Perform other duties as directed and assume additional responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must possess a current and valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in the state of Alabama or obtain certification within 120 days of hire.
  • Experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant preferred.

Schedule

Training classes are held Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM for about 6 weeks.
