Pay

$14.00 hourly plus tips

About the role

Work on top of the mountain! As a cashier, you will provide the highest quality of service to guests in accordance with company policies and objectives, striving toward guest satisfaction, positive employee relations, and profitability. The cashier is often the first and last contact the guest has with our lodge, so how you represent the Sky House goes a long way in determining whether the guest will become a regular. Cashiers are required to possess professionalism, a friendly and welcoming demeanor, and an efficient manner.

Responsibilities

• Cash handling and cash register duties using Squirrel POS System
• Customer service
• Bussing tables and keeping the front area clean, stocked, and organized
• Inventory and stocking of product
• Keeping the café area clean
• ID guests in accordance with Idaho State liquor and identification laws
• Monitor guest intoxication and take action/get help if necessary
• Serve guests food
• Obtain extensive knowledge of Schweitzer Mountain Resort facilities, services, and activities
• Communicate effectively with guests in giving directions and answering questions
• Perform other duties as assigned, including assisting the host/hostess at the Sky House
• Count and be responsible for ringing items up and making correct change

Schedule

Average shift is 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM.

Physical demands

• Combined standing/walking for up to 8 hours per shift
• Standing in place for up to 2-3 hours at a time
• Lifting up to 30 lbs. occasionally
• Bending, squatting, kneeling, climbing, twisting, and reaching above shoulder level occasionally
• Using hands for grasping and fine manipulation
• Worksite is 99% inside and 1% outside
• Exposed to ice/snow coming to and from work
• Skiing or snowboarding background helpful

Requirements

• Exceptional customer service skills and detail-oriented
• English reading, writing, and communication; basic math
• Cash register and/or POS system experience helpful
• Idaho State Police Alcohol Beverage Training Certificate required
