Cashier

About the role

As a Cashier at Sprouts Farmers Market, you are the face of the company while you process each customer’s order quickly, accurately, and efficiently. You ensure complete customer satisfaction through prompt and friendly service. Responsibilities include accurately handling customer cash, credit/debit payments, and change, assisting customers by providing information and resolving complaints, following all front-end procedures, stocking shelves, and maintaining a clean and orderly checkout area. You will also maintain knowledge of weekly ad items, direct customers to product locations, stay informed about store events and seminars, and communicate effectively with the front-end manager and Head Cashier.

Responsibilities

• Process customer orders quickly, accurately, and efficiently while ensuring customer satisfaction.
• Handle customer cash, credit/debit payments, and change accurately.
• Assist customers by providing information and resolving complaints.
• Follow all front-end procedures, including stocking shelves, facing, and dusting as needed.
• Maintain knowledge of weekly ad items and direct customers to product locations.
• Stay informed about store events and seminars.
• Maintain excellent communication with the front-end manager and Head Cashier.
• Ensure checkout areas are clean and orderly at all times.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• 1-2 years of recent cashiering experience.
• Outgoing and friendly behavior with a positive attitude.
• Ability to interact effectively with customers.
• Ability to operate front-end equipment such as registers, calculators, and scanners.
• Dependable and reliable with a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Good communication skills and ability to take direction/constructive criticism.
• Ability to perform repetitious activities, multi-task, prioritize, and stay organized.
• Must be able to lift and carry products weighing up to 30 lbs. from 36” to 24” for a distance up to 3 feet for up to 50 hours without mechanical assistance.
• Must use both hands to move grocery carts requiring a force up to 35 lbs. for a distance up to 4 feet for up to 50 hours.
• Strong attention to detail and proficiency with numbers, including cash handling and mathematical skills.
• Ability to read, write, and count.
