Sky Bridge Host - Goldbelt Tram
Overview
As the only aerial tramway in Southeast Alaska, guests at the Goldbelt Tram are invited to soar to new heights in scenic adventure aboard Juneau's top attraction. We offer locals and visitors an opportunity to experience breathtaking Alaska scenery, explore the miles of trails atop Mount Roberts, and learn more about Alaska Native culture.
Responsibilities
- Ensure that each customer receives prompt and courteous service.
- People-oriented and able to provide superior customer service.
- Display a positive attitude that is contagious, speaking highly of the company in the presence of customers or other associates.
- Responsible for a balanced drawer.
- Uses accuracy when ringing up a sale and counting back cash money.
- Use diplomacy when a customer’s credit card is declined.
- Functions as the respective supervisor (Ticket Agent or Host), with limited decision-making authority, during operational hours when manager is not on duty; striving to maintain and/or improve guest and/or ticketing services.
- Affords assistance/guidance to subordinate Hosts or Ticket Agents, explaining the practices, procedures and techniques of providing excellent customer service to all incoming and outgoing passengers.
- Assigns tasks; checks quality of work performance; and makes follow-up suggestions for improvement.
- Train and supervise subordinate hosts.
- Works in conjunction with Tram Attendant and other tramway staff to ensure the line to ride down the tramway is kept in an orderly fashion and moving along, checking for wrist stamps, answering guest’s questions, and problem solving.
- Uses diplomacy to keep the situation from escalating when informing guests of any interruption of tramway operations.
- Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.
Qualifications
- Necessary Skills and Knowledge:
- Ability to meet time and attendance requirements.
- Ability to work all different shifts including holidays and weekends.
- Ability to attend all scheduled meetings, orientations and trainings.
- Ability to handle stress under pressure.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Skill in operating personal computer utilizing a variety of computer software.
- Skill in establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with other employees.
- Ability to work directly with the public, providing information and assistance on a daily basis.
- Ability/willingness to learn and pass on to guests those areas of interest to visitors, such as local history, people, culture, geography, etc.
- Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent;
- AND Two (2) seasons of ticket agent or host, customer service or paraprofessional level experience involved with tourism, travel, and/or hospitality services, including cash handling tasks;
- AND Ability to successfully pass a background check.
- Preferrred Qualifications:
- Current CPR Certification and First Aid training or the ability to obtain within 30-days.
- Drug testing may be required.
- Previous experience working in the visitor or hospitality industry or other customer service-related field.
- Previous supervisory experience.
Pay and Benefits
Seasonal Employees are eligible for the Seasonal Employee Layoff Bonus Plan. The plan is designed to provide an effective means to motivate and compensate eligible seasonal employees during the term of their assignment. However, Goldbelt, Inc. may, in certain limited circumstances, grant discretionary performance bonuses outside of this program, in the sole discretion of the Company. Goldbelt, Inc. hopes that by providing short-term incentive compensation, this will motivate and increase the retention rate among its employees which in turn will enhance Goldbelt Inc.’s long-term value. Starting Rate: $20.00 - DOE
