About the role
The Skills Trainer supports the planning, implementation, and evaluation of skills-specific academic and therapeutic services for school-aged youth in an assigned treatment program. They implement education and treatment programming in a classroom environment as a member of an interdisciplinary team of professionals.
Responsibilities
- Provides education, direction, and modeling to assist program clients with their academic and treatment goals for implementing identified evidence-based therapeutic interventions, assisting with academic instruction, and providing skills training.
- Provides emotional support, leadership, and direction to all program clients.
- Consults with team members, agency personnel, and family members regarding current program client issues.
- Is accountable for providing supervision and trauma and stress-informed care for all program clients.
Qualifications
- A combination of experience and training that would provide the required knowledge and abilities to successfully complete the essential functions of this role.
- Training equivalent to completion of a bachelor's degree in behavioral sciences.
