Skilled Tradesman-Carpenter

About the Role

ASU-Beebe is seeking a carpenter with skills in framing (wood and metal studs), drywall installation, suspended ceilings installation, solid and hollow core door installation, and the ability to finish concrete. This employee will also assist other skilled trades within the department as needed.

Responsibilities

• Door repair
• Suspended ceiling repair
• Concrete finishing
• Framing
• Assist other tradesmen to complete projects requiring collaboration across departments
• Process daily work orders as assigned
• General carpentry duties using hand and power tools
• Repair and build structures using materials such as wood, sheetrock, and roofing
• Maintain inventory of tools and parts specific to the trade

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, plus specialized schooling and/or on-the-job education in carpentry or a related skilled trade
• 5 years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Valid Arkansas Driver’s License

Skills and Abilities

• Knowledge of methods, practices, and safety precautions in carpentry and related skilled trades
• Knowledge of accepted practices, processes, materials, and tools of the trade
• Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations
• Ability to perform mathematical and analytical tasks for material estimates
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, manuals, schematics, building plans, and work drawings
• Ability to understand verbal and written instructions
• Ability to maintain inventory of parts and tools

Pay

Minimum salary: $29,251
