Experienced and trainable carpenter skilled in residential and commercial rebuilding, particularly in insurance restoration work. Reports directly to the Project Manager. Must possess a reliable truck and tools.
Responsibilities
- General carpentry - residential and commercial
- Demolition
- Tile work
- Hanging cabinets
- Trim carpentry - baseboards
- Door hanging and taping
- Painting
- Light electrical/plumbing
- Rough framing, including re-framing homes and setting trusses
- Ensure company and customer satisfaction through professional appearance, expert workmanship, and polite communication
- Comply with safety, quality, and procedural standards
Requirements
- Direct experience working as a skilled carpenter
- Knowledge of carpentry and use of related hand and power tools
- Self-motivated
- Able to work in confined areas (e.g., crawl spaces)
- Understand and follow oral and written instructions
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Ability to identify hazards in assigned work areas
- Work safely without presenting a direct threat to self or others
- Meet the mental and physical demands of the job
- Ability to work professionally with others
- Maintain a valid and current driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record
- Pass a national criminal background check and motor vehicle report background check
- Pass a pre-employment drug screening
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
Work Environment & Physical Demands
The work environment is usually quiet. The employee must regularly lift and/or move between 25-50 pounds. While performing duties, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to handle material, talk, and hear. The employee must also stoop, kneel, crouch, or occasionally crawl and may be required to sit.
Travel
Availability for travel in response to out-of-town projects and/or catastrophic events. Some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected for training or meetings.
Pay
Hourly pay range: $21.00 – $36.00
