About the role

Flare Construction, LLC, a Quanta Services Company, is hiring Skilled Laborers for an active project in the Eagle Mountain, UT area. This is a hands-on field position for experienced laborers who can work independently and take ownership of their tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Operate hand and power tools safely and effectively, including tampers, compactors, saws, and drills.
  • Start up, operate, and shut down small equipment such as plate compactors, jumping jacks, and walk-behind rollers.
  • Absorb compaction, subgrade preparation, fine grading, slope trimming, and material placement to project specifications.
  • Signal and guide equipment operators during grading, excavation, and utility installation.
  • Support pipe crews installing storm drain, sanitary sewer, water main, and conduit.
  • Help with concrete flatwork setup, forming, and minor finishing tasks.
  • Read grade stakes and check grade under Foreman direction.
  • Handle and transport materials in line with company and DOT requirements.
  • Provide informal, on-the-job guidance to newer crew members and model safe work practices.
  • Take part in daily safety briefings, track your time accurately, and communicate progress to the Field Foreman.

Requirements

  • Prior construction laborer experience, ideally in civil earthwork or underground utilities.
  • Comfort operating small equipment and a range of hand and power tools.
  • Dependable attendance, punctuality, and consistent follow-through.
  • A safety-first mindset and the ability to work well with a crew.
  • Willingness to work varied shifts, including early starts, long days, nights, or weekends as the project requires.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • OSHA 10 required.
  • Valid state driver's license required; Class A or B CDL preferred.
  • First Aid / CPR preferred.

Working Conditions

This is an outdoor field position on an active Eagle Mountain area jobsite in all seasons, with exposure to extreme temperatures, dust, noise, heavy equipment, and excavation hazards. Full PPE is required, including hard hat, safety glasses, high-visibility vest, steel-toed boots, gloves, and hearing protection as needed. The work is physical: expect frequent lifting, bending, climbing, kneeling, and prolonged standing, with the ability to lift and carry up to 80 lbs. and the stamina to work extended shifts in all weather.

Compensation

Competitive hourly compensation plus per diem is offered.
