About the Role

The Equipment Maintenance Department is seeking a Skilled Group Leader to oversee and supervise a team of skilled equipment maintenance workers. This role supports the plant's objectives of producing engine blocks and transmission cases safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure team members adhere to all safety rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Develop and maintain three function standards for the department.
  • Responsible for team members completing standardized work and ensuring Job Safety Analysis (JSA) forms are completed for non-standardized work tasks.
  • Daily report on machine issues and ensure urgency is followed based on current situations for inventory, plant performance, and manpower needs.
  • Maintain daily manpower conditions while driving the plant towards training, cross-checking, quality circles, and more.
  • Provide technical support through coaching and teaching during and after equipment breakdowns.
  • Use Daily Mendomi to maintain high morale within the group.
  • Encourage continuous improvement and ownership of the area.
  • Maintain 4S of the area and establish clear standards using systems.
  • Track daily problem-solving activity using FMDS.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of manufacturing or relevant military experience; aluminum casting, foundry metallurgy, or heat treat experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Maximo or CMMS.
  • Demonstrated experience applying Toyota Production System (TPS) principles of kaizen, standardized work, or similar lean methodologies.
  • Ability to work weekends, overtime, and shutdown work (e.g., holidays).
  • TL candidates must have 1 year experience as TL and completion of TL-GL pathway (internal candidates only).
  • Added bonus for 2-year degree/certificate or higher in Maintenance or Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Experience with data analytics tools such as Power BI or similar.
  • PLC experience, robot knowledge or programming experience, integration experience.
  • Working knowledge of FMDS and Prevention, Prediction, Quick Action (PDQA).
  • Supervisory experience, with responsibility for direct reports.
  • Experience with creating and maintaining budgets including cost reduction activities.
  • Toyota Business Practice (TBP) completion through panel (Toyota Team Members Only).

Qualifications

  • Right to work in the United States and not require Toyota support or sponsorship for immigration-related employment.
  • Experience with data analytics tools such as Power BI or similar.
