About the role

The Equipment Maintenance Department is seeking a Skilled Group Leader to oversee and supervise a team of skilled equipment maintenance workers. This role supports the plant's objectives of producing engine blocks and transmission cases in a safe and efficient manner.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure team members follow all safety rules, policies and procedures.
  • Develop and maintain 3 Function standards for the department.
  • Responsible for team following all standardized work and ensuring JSA’s are completed for non-STW jobs.
  • Daily reporting on machine issues and ensuring urgency is followed based on current situation for inventory, plant performance and manpower.
  • Ensure daily manpower conditions are met while driving TM’s to complete training, cross check, quality circles and much more.
  • Provide technical support thru coaching and teaching both during and after equipment breakdowns.
  • Use daily mendomi to keep morale high in group.
  • Encourage kaizen and ownership of area.
  • Maintain 4s of area and have clear standards using systems.
  • Use FMDS and track daily problem-solving activity.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of manufacturing or relevant military experience; aluminum casting, foundry metallurgy, or heat treat experience strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Maximo or CMMS.
  • Demonstrated experience applying Toyota Production System (TPS) principles of kaizen, standardized work or similar lean methodologies.
  • Ability to work weekends, overtime and shutdown work (such as July and December holidays) as needed.
  • TL Candidates must have 1 year experience as TL and completion of TL-GL pathway (Internal candidates only).
  • Added bonus if you have 2-year degree/certificate or higher in Maintenance or Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Experience with data analytics tools such as Power BI or similar.
  • PLC experience.
  • Robot knowledge / programming experience / integration experience.
  • Working knowledge of FMDS, and Prevention, Prediction, Quick Action (PDQA).
  • Supervisory experience, with responsibility for direct reports.
  • Experience with creating and maintaining budgets including cost reduction activities.
  • Toyota Business Practice (TBP) completion through panel (Toyota Team Members Only).

Qualifications

Shift: Weekend (Friday through Sunday) Day Shift and Night Shift
