Skilled Equipment Maintenance Group Leader
About the role
The Toyota Production Department is seeking a Group Leader to support production needs by developing team members and team leaders, leading skill enhancement activities, coordinating major breakdown investigations, and monitoring key performance indicators.
Responsibilities
- Manage a group of hourly team leaders and team members, ensuring a safe operating environment.
- Demonstrate leadership skills to achieve/exceed safety, quality, cost, and team member development objectives.
- Provide/coordinate training and developmental opportunities, fostering a respectful environment.
- Utilize strong communication skills as the primary link between leadership and the production team.
- Collaborate with other areas and departments within Toyota, providing regular updates to senior leadership.
- Daily management of an assigned area, focusing on safety, quality, productivity, cost, and team member development.
- Utilize problem-solving skills to identify and eliminate process bottlenecks, improve equipment/tooling, and team member ergonomics.
- Engage team in systematic problem-solving activity and Quality Circles to resolve issues and develop capabilities.
- Apply engineering principles to resolve day-to-day concerns and understand team member conceptual ideas.
- Possess creativity and strong mechanical background to develop practical applications and solutions.
- Utilize project management and planning skills to translate the division's annual business plan into daily activities for your team.
- Manage area budget, including operating supplies, raw materials, staffing, and continuously seeking improvement opportunities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business or technical discipline, or equivalent experience (10 years) in industrial equipment maintenance/engineering in a manufacturing environment.
- Leadership/supervisory experience (3+ years) in a skilled maintenance, engineering, manufacturing, or supply chain role in a lean manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in project management.
Qualifications
- Must be capable of utilizing engineering principles to resolve day-to-day concerns.
- Must possess a certain degree of creativity and have a strong mechanical ability/background.

Schedule
The shift for this position will be one of the PM shifts listed below:
- Monday - Thursday (4 days X 10 hours): 8 pm to 6:30 am
- Friday - Sunday (3 days X 12 hours): 6 pm to 6:30 am
