SKILLED CARPENTER; TRENTON, ME

Responsibilities

• Fabricate custom interior components.
• Work with exotic woods, veneers, laminates, and composite materials.
• Transfer dimensions to marine plywood and other materials.
• Read and interpret blueprints and position parts in specified openings with screws or laminates.
• Perform high-quality finishing work, including sanding, staining, varnishing, and polishing.
• Ensure all surfaces meet company standards.
• Knowledge of woodworking joints such as scarf, sill splice, lap, finger, and dovetail.
• Skilled use of epoxies and vinylester resins or other adhesives to bond parts.
• Follow defined instructions and procedures in the performance of tasks.

Requirements

• Twelve (12) months carpentry experience, plus two (2) years boatbuilding experience.
• Lift and carry over 60 lbs. on an occasional basis.
• Must hold a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Proficient in marine-grade woodworking and joinery techniques.
• Skilled in working with exotic hardwoods, veneers, laminates, and composite materials.
• Experience in constructing and installing cabinetry, bulkheads, doors, custom furniture, etc.
• Familiar with fitting joinery of irregular shapes and sizes.
• Able to read and interpret detailed technical drawings and design specifications.
