Responsibilities
- Fabricate custom interior components.
- Work with exotic woods, veneers, laminates, and composite materials.
- Transfer dimensions to marine plywood and other materials.
- Read and interpret blueprints and position parts in specified openings with screws or laminates.
- Perform high-quality finishing work, including sanding, staining, varnishing, and polishing.
- Ensure all surfaces meet company standards.
- Knowledge of woodworking joints such as scarf, sill splice, lap, finger, and dovetail.
- Skilled use of epoxies and vinylester resins or other adhesives to bond parts.
- Follow defined instructions and procedures in the performance of tasks.
Requirements
- Twelve (12) months carpentry experience, plus two (2) years boatbuilding experience.
- Lift and carry over 60 lbs. on an occasional basis.
- Must hold a valid driver’s license.
Qualifications
- Proficient in marine-grade woodworking and joinery techniques.
- Skilled in working with exotic hardwoods, veneers, laminates, and composite materials.
- Experience in constructing and installing cabinetry, bulkheads, doors, custom furniture, etc.
- Familiar with fitting joinery of irregular shapes and sizes.
- Able to read and interpret detailed technical drawings and design specifications.
