SkillBridge Internship – Field Technician

About the role

The SkillBridge Internship offers active-duty US Military Service members the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various Siemens business groups, including Building Automation, Fire/Life Safety, and Security. This unique program provides participants with the chance to join Siemens upon successful completion of the internship.

Responsibilities

• Meet with customers to diagnose and resolve HVAC/Building Automation, Fire/Life Safety, or Integrated Security electronic control system malfunctions.
• Maintain, repair, or install new equipment; commission if needed.
• Consult with internal engineering and management teams for discrepancies in drawings or issues that arise.
• Interface with customers: document service work, provide training, and recommend system enhancements.

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience and/or applied knowledge/aptitude in electro-mechanical systems.
• Technical experience supporting mechanical, electrical, thermodynamic, hydraulic, mechatronic, or other related systems.
• Experience using Microsoft Office applications.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively (verbal & written).
• Demonstrated ability to interface with customers and collaborate with team members.
• Ability to work on-site and travel locally as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or state-recognized GED required.
• Basic qualifications include being legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship, and being 18 years of age with a valid driver’s license.
• Preferred qualifications include U.S. Military experience as an E5 or above, an associate or bachelor’s degree, experience in demand-side energy services, or certification as a Certified Energy Manager.
• Familiarity or experience with engineering HVAC, Building Automation, Fire Alarm, or Security systems is desired.
