SkillBridge Intern (Transitioning Military Service Members-2026)
Overview
General Dynamics Land Systems (GDLS) is a proud and approved DoD SkillBridge Industry Partner. SkillBridge offers transitioning service members valuable civilian work experience through an individual internship during their last six months of service for up to 180 days.
The program is open to any rank, enlisted or officer, and participants must have at least 180 continuous days of active service and obtain written authorization and approval from their unit commander to participate.
Participants will receive an honorable discharge and will not be eligible for compensation from GDLS, as they continue to receive DOD compensation and benefits as active-duty service members. They will be supervised and mentored by experienced professionals in respective fields and will be included as part of the team within the department.

Objective
SkillBridge program participants will receive on-the-job training and job-shadowing opportunities to gain skills to meet the specific needs of the organization and will be prepared to meet the GDLS mission to provide innovative design, engineering, technology, production, and full life-cycle support for land combat vehicles around the globe.
This program provides a comprehensive internship experience including professional development, mentoring, networking with leadership, and training specifically focused on GDLS leadership expectations, company history, customer/stakeholder engagement, product and service overview, and core job responsibilities.
