Skill Builder, Youth Support Specialist

Responsibilities

• Support the child/youth in developing and applying functional skills within their natural environment.
• Foster the growth of age-appropriate skills that enhance personal development and community engagement.
• Enhance the child/youth’s social and interpersonal abilities through targeted interventions.
• Deliver services in both individual and group settings throughout the community.
• Engage with the child/youth across various environments, including their home, school, workplace, social settings, and the agency's facility.
• Ensure accurate and timely documentation of services in compliance with Medicaid billing requirements and agency policies.
• Cookplicate with other service providers involved in the child/youth’s treatment plan to support ongoing care and planning.
• Apply culturally competent and trauma-informed practices in all aspects of service delivery.
• Participate in weekly supervision meetings with the assigned supervisor for guidance and professional development.

Qualifications

• A minimum of High School Diploma, GED, or Technical school is required.
• At least 2 years of experience working with children or youth.
• A valid driver’s license and access to a reliable private transportation that meets Salvation Army insurance requirements.

Pay

$23.00/hour

Requirements
