Key Responsibilities
- Teach skiing and/or snowboarding to groups and individuals, creating a safe and enjoyable learning experience through effective class handling and creative instruction
- Follow the Responsibility Code and prioritize guest safety on varied terrain in winter weather conditions
- Instruct students on how to load and unload lifts, providing physical assistance to children as needed
- Supervise children during class, as well as during lunch and snack times
- Promote teamwork and maintain a positive attitude, showing respect for all team members and staff
- Continuously improve teaching, technical, and skiing/snowboarding skills by participating in developmental training
- Follow and implement policies and procedures of Holiday Mountain
- Maintain punctuality and regular attendance
- Wear the designated uniform and a helmet
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Intermediate to advanced level of skiing/snowboarding ability (comfortable on blue slopes)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work with diverse age groups and skill levels
- Enthusiastic, patient, and adaptable teaching approach
- Must be 16 years of age or older
- Able to pass a background check
- Own and maintain up-to-date skiing/snowboarding equipment
- PSIA/AASI/USSS certification or equivalent experience is preferred but not required
Physical Demands
- Ability to ski/and or snowboard for up to 8 hours per day in inclement winter weather
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
