About the role
Seasonal Ski + Ride Support Staff at Winter Park Resort provide safe, pleasant, and attentive care for children aged 3-14 in the Ski + Ride School. They manage emotional, physical, and social needs, facilitate activities, and interact with guests and families.
Responsibilities
- Create a safe, pleasant, and attentive environment for children.
- Escort children and their gear responsibly around the Ski + Ride School facilities.
- Tend to children having trouble adjusting to their new surroundings or the cold.
- Provide activities and play opportunities for children.
- Facilitate groups through mealtime.
- Manage any behavioral issues or incidents in a professional manner.
- Interact with guests and their families during check-in/out processes.
- Use Flaik, a student GPS tracking system, to monitor lessons and resolve incidents.
- Work closely with instructors, supervisors, patrol, and lift operations.
- Maintain and transport Flaik equipment and other guest supplies.
- Follow all procedures and policies for public health and safety.
- Operate snowmobiles and other over-snow equipment to transport gear and guests.
- Perform regular checks and minor repairs on all equipment.
- Load, ride, unload, and download surface lifts, chair lifts, or gondolas.
- Communicate with staff and guests using radios and phones.
- Set a positive example for other Resort employees and guests.
- Understand and adhere to all Resort policies and procedures.
- Be knowledgeable about the Ski + Ride School and base area.
- Be aware of area cleanliness and pick up trash.
- Work independently and assist various departments as needed.
Requirements
- Great customer service or public relations skills.
- Enjoys working with guests of all ages from 3 years to adults.
- Willingness to work with children.
- Flexible and willing to help wherever needed.
- Able to work independently.
- Experience working on a computer.
- Experience operating a snowmobile, ATV, or other motorized OHV.
- Experience in service, outdoors, and/or with children is preferred.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED (high school equivalency).
- Age 18+ at start date.
